The President of Turkmenistan opened a gas collection station in Lebap velayat

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening of a gas gathering station at the Gadyn gas field in the Lebap velayat (region in the east of the country).

The new station, which was built by the China National Petroleum Corporation in a year, will allow collecting and processing 5.5 million cubic meters of natural gas per day and sending this fuel to the Turkmenistan-China export gas pipeline. The station will also provide jobs for 200 people.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the head of state noted that the export of hydrocarbon resources to foreign markets is the strategic goal of Turkmenistan, which ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves.

According to the president, a vivid example of this is the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline, which consists of three branches, each 1,830 kilometers long and allows exporting 55 billion cubic meters of “blue fuel” to China per year.

“Since its commissioning at the end of 2009, more than 334 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been exported from Turkmenistan to China. In the future, it is planned to build another, fourth branch in order to increase the volume of exported fuel up to 65 billion cubic meters per year,” the Turkmen leader said.
