The President of Turkmenistan received credentials from the new Ambassador of Romania

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received credentials from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Turkmenistan, Ion Naval.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Romanian relations, noting the existence of wide opportunities for building up cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The parties paid special attention to economic cooperation, discussing the possibilities of developing partnerships in energy, trade, agriculture, transport, chemical and light industries. In this regard, during the talks, the important role of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Romanian Commission for Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation in strengthening trade relations and studying new forms of interaction was noted.

Science, education and culture were also named among the priority areas of bilateral cooperation.
