The President of Turkmenistan received the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, who arrived in Turkmenistan at the head of a government delegation.

The parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Ashgabat and the meeting of the leaders of the two countries on the sidelines of the third consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia, held last year.

Particular attention during the talks was paid to building up partnerships in such strategic areas as the transport and logistics sector, energy, agriculture and industrial cooperation. In this regard, the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for determining new vectors of partnership was noted.

During the conversation, the Turkmen leader and his guest also exchanged views on the prospects for cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. The parties noted that last year the trade turnover between the countries doubled compared to 2020, and at the same time there is potential for its further increase.
