President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Foreign Affairs Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Pointing out an advancing character of the Turkmen-Iranian dialogue in political and diplomatic, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, the Turkmen leader underlined the importance of activity of the intergovernmental commission as an effective mechanism of realisation of agreements.
Having noted that the Turkmen market attracts an increasing number of potential investors thanks to the resource and economic potential together with its favourable investment climate, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran expressed an interest of business circles of the country in the establishment of closer partnership relations, direct contacts with the state and private structures of Turkmenistan.
An interested exchange of opinions on the state and partnership prospects in a number of key directions, including fuel and energy and transport-communication spheres with the account of international initiatives of Turkmenistan on maintenance of global energy security and formation of modern transport infrastructure for the account of creation of new transport-transit corridors took place. In these areas our countries gained a great experience of joint work.
The importance of strengthening of bilateral relations in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, to which organization of Days of culture and other actions mutually attests, was underlined. Issues of interaction on the important issues of international and regional significance representing mutual interest with the account of mutual aim at maintenance of common security, peace and stability became the subject of conversation.
