The President of Turkmenistan received the head of the Gazprom open joint-stock company

Today, the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Alexei Miller, the head of the Gazprom open joint-stock company.

Expressing his sincere gratitude for taking the time to meet the visiting Turkmen leader, he conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It was confirmed that a large energy company of the Russian Federation is interested in mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Greeting the head of Gazprom open joint-stock company, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that his current visit to our country will contribute to the strengthening of effective cooperation in the fuel and energy sector and the further expansion of multi-faceted Turkmen-Russian relations in general. Emphasizing that the development of strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy, the Turkmen leader expressed his greetings and best wishes to the President of Russia.

During the meeting, it was noted that Turkmen-Russian relations, whose roots go back to the beginning of history, have a traditional friendly and good-neighborly character. Agreements reached during regular high-level meetings are a solid foundation for dynamic development of cooperation in various fields.

It was noted that today, as a result of joint efforts, intergovernmental cooperation is enriched with new meaning in all areas. In this regard, cooperation in the fuel and energy sector has a special place. There is great potential and rich experience in this field. It was noted that "Gazprom" open joint-stock company is a long-standing partner of Turkmenistan. During many years of joint work, an effective form of cooperation based on trust and consideration of mutual interests was formed.

It was emphasized that the country, which has huge reserves of natural resources, actively aims to develop long-term cooperation with all interested foreign partners. Modernization of oil and gas industry enterprises, increasing the efficiency of mining and processing industries, diversification of energy exports, and implementation of joint projects are priorities.

Speaking about these, the Turkmen leader noted that there are great opportunities for further development of bilateral cooperation. In this regard, the approaches to fully realize the potential of cooperation were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of Gazprom Open Joint-Stock Company Alexey Miller expressed confidence that the Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the energy sector, established on a long-term basis and aimed at concrete results, will be successfully continued.
