President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a two-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and performed the rite of Umra Hajj, a small pilgrimage, in Mecca. Together with the head of state, a small hajj was also performed by a delegation of elders from all regions of the country.
After four hours of flight, the plane landed at the international airport of the Saudi city of Jeddah. In the air harbor, the Turkmen leader was met by the governor of the province of Mecca, adviser to the king of Saudi Arabia, Khalid bin Faisal Al Saud, and other officials. From the airport, the presidential cortege headed for the city of Mecca, the spiritual capital of the Muslim world.
Upon arrival in Mecca, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and a delegation of elders of Turkmenistan, accompanied by special religious representatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visited the Al-Haram Mosque and performed all the rituals required for the small Hajj.
