A round table was held at the Center for Public Health and Nutrition of Turkmenistan on the topic of introducing electronic systems in the immunization program , “Turkmenistan: the golden age” reported on May 1.
The participants of the event (representatives of the Ministry of Health, SES, WHO and UNICEF country offices) got acquainted with the VacBase electronic program for immunization, the electronic program - the Register of vaccinated persons against COVID-19, as well as the monitoring system for patients with parenteral viral hepatitis in Turkmenistan.
In early October, UNDP reported that Russian expert Anatoly Lavrov had advised the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan on the creation of an electronic register of people who had been vaccinated against the coronavirus. It was expected that the database would help to determine the coverage of the vaccinated population and plan the supply of vaccines to the country. Meanwhile, on October 8, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced that more than 70% of the population in Turkmenistan had been vaccinated.
In Turkmenistan, as part of routine immunization, preventive vaccinations against 14 infections are carried out. This year, their list was supplemented with vaccination against coronavirus according to epidemic indications , the newspaper notes.
On April 23, with the support of UNICEF, basic vaccines for routine immunization were delivered to Turkmenistan on a charter flight . In the fall of 2020, the President signed the Vaccine and Immunization Equipment Procurement Plan 2021-2025 with a budget of more than $83 million.
