The repeatedly announced tender for the construction of a calcite plant in Lebap has been extended again

The Ministry of Industry and Construction Production of Turkmenistan once again extends an open international tender for the construction of a calcite production plant in the Koytendag etrap of the Lebap velayat. The corresponding announcement was placed in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" dated January 24.

This time the tender has been extended by 10 working days.

The tender was originally announced in December 2021. In February of this year, it was extended, in July it was announced again, and on October 27 it was announced again and again extended for 20 working days on December 19.

Back in January 2019, the responsible Deputy Prime Minister reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about his intention to launch the production of the mineral calcite, the production of which "will allow Turkmen builders to completely abandon imported analogues and, on its basis, produce various types of domestic paints, drywall and other non-metallic building materials."

Then, a proposal was submitted for consideration by the head of state to establish a production of calcareous spar (calcite) with an annual capacity of 500 tons on the basis of a building materials enterprise located in the city of Magdanly, Lebap velayat.

Since 2018, the president has regularly given instructions to provide construction companies with materials of their own production. The last time it was heard at a cabinet meeting on February 11, when the head of state ordered "to intensify the construction of the second stage of cement plants, as well as to form a powerful industry for the production of building materials, including cement, iron products, inert and finishing materials."
