The representative of the UN Department told the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan about advanced technologies for holding elections

On February 24, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov , met with the Director of the Electoral Assistance Division of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs , Craig Jenness , reports the Foreign Ministry

Meredov informed Jenness about preparations for the presidential elections in Turkmenistan and discussed joint work on this issue.

In turn, the UN representative spoke about advanced technologies and innovative solutions during the preparation and conduct of elections.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reports that from February 25, the Turkmen side, together with the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, begins a series of trainings for representatives of the CEC and other government agencies on best practices in conducting electoral processes.

Meanwhile, as correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported earlier, in Ashgabat and Turkmenabat , state employees and house management workers go to residential buildings and apartments, collecting passport data of voters. In Turkmenabat, in addition to collecting information about adults, residents are campaigning to vote for Serdar Berdimuhamedov .
