The results of the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan for the first quarter of 2022 were summed up at an expanded meeting of the government of the country.
At the meeting, it was noted that in accordance with the final data of all ministries and sectoral departments, in general, the volume of manufactured products, in comparison with the same period last year, increased by 11.1 percent.
In January-March of the current year, the volume of retail trade turnover increased by 10.4 percent, and the volume of foreign trade grew by 40.9 percent due to an increase in export and import operations.
It was also emphasized at the meeting that wages for large and medium-sized enterprises of the country increased by 10.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021. It was especially noted that wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were financed in a timely manner.
After listening to the reports, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew the attention of the leaders of the economic block of the government to the need for constant monitoring of the economy and financial situation in the country, taking into account the current situation in the world economy. Along with this, the head of Turkmenistan ordered to expand the program of lending to small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to analyze the program for creating new jobs, especially in the regions of the country.
