The Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan called the participation of Russian companies in TAPI “politically attractive”

On January 31, the Special Representative of the President of Russia for Afghanistan, Director of the Second Department of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zamir Kabulov , gave an interview to TASS, which also touched upon the topic of Russia's participation in the construction of TAPI.

“Politically, this prospect looks attractive. The issues of ensuring the safety of this project, which were previously considered the most problematic , have lost their sharpness at the current stage . But the last word is up to Russian economy operators, everything will depend on the commercial side of the issue, profitability for them from participating in the implementation of this project,” the official said.

From January 31 to February 4, the Turkmen delegation is discussing the acceleration of the construction of TAPI with Pakistan.

On January 15, the Taliban delegation, which arrived in Ashgabat for negotiations, announced that work on the construction of TAPI, TAP and the railway would begin in March of this year.
