The state commodity exchange announces export of domestic wheat and import of overseas grain

The state information agency TDH reports that last week the local produce for the amount of $2 mln 735 thousand was sold at Turkmenistan's State Commodity Exchange.

Among other things, Turkmen food grain was reportedly exported overseas. The volume of sold grain, however, is not mentioned.

At the same time, according to the agency, food grain for the amount of 1,323,000 manats ($378,000 at the government-established exchange rate or $200,000 using the black market rate) was imported to the Turkmen market from overseas. The volume of purchased wheat is not specified.

Let us recall that this year out of planned 1 mln 600 thousand tons 1 million tons of grain has been harvested. All khyakims of the velayat were severely reprimanded for poor performance of job responsibilities and failure to ensure obligations in wheat production.
