At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 16, Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov , who oversees the construction, industrial and energy complex, reported on the work on increasing the capacity of the country's chemical production.
The official said that now, in order to increase the volume of supplies abroad, work is underway to increase the productivity of the country's urea plants. In particular, proposals for a major overhaul of the Tejenkarbamid plant and the settlement of capital investments for the products manufactured by the enterprise are being studied , the state information agency TDH reports .
In response, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of the uninterrupted functioning of chemical complexes and bringing them to full production capacity . The Deputy Prime Minister was instructed to once again work out in detail the issue of concluding a contract with foreign partners regarding the reconstruction of the plant.
Note that in the summer of 2020 the head of state reported that urea fertilizer factories specializing in the production of «Marykarbamid», «Tejenkarbamid» and «Garabogazkarbamid» provide the needs of the domestic market and exports the bulk of its products abroad.
However, already in February of this year, Berdymukhamedov criticized the work of the head of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern. According to the head of state , the capacity of the Tezhenkarbamid plant is used only by 53.7%, the Marykarbamid plant - by 62.5%, and the Maryazot production association - by only 23%.
Tejencarbamide is one of the first urea plants in Turkmenistan. It was put into operation in 2005 in the city of Tejen. Its design capacity is 350 thousand tons per year.
