The temporary gas deal to supply Turkmen gas to Russia expires on 1 July

The term of temporary gas supply deal between Turkmengas and Gazprom expired on 1 July, 2019. It has been previously reported that the sides were holding negotiations to sign a new 5-year contract for the supply of Turkmen gas. In mid May Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Anatoliy Yanovsky reported that the volumes might reach about 10 billion cubic meters a year.

As of today there are no reports pertaining to the extension of the contract.

Let us recall that on 15 April Gazprom resumed gas supplies from Turkmenistan. From mid April until 30 June the Russian company intended to purchase slightly over 1 billion cubic meters of gas a year. The price details were not disclosed.
