The Uzbek President is “sincerely happy” that the Turkmen President received the award for mass media development

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended greetings to the Turkmen leader in connection with the ABU award presented to Berdymukhammedov for his contribution to the development of mass media, the state information agency TDH reports.

This prestigious award, � the address of Uzbekistan's President runs, � proves once again that the global community commends peaceful and constructive domestic and foreign policy pursued under your wise guidance and acknowledges Turkmenistan's continuous efforts in the development of mass media, telecommunications and global media landscape.

The Uzbek people are sincerely pleased with the accomplishments of our neighbor Turkmenistan, highly appreciate your efforts in facilitating and strengthening friendly and good neighbourly relations between our countries, � President Mirziyoyev concluded.

Let us recall that on 4 October the General Assembly session of the Asian-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) kicked off in Ashgabat. The ABU Secretary General presented President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedovwith an award for the development of mass media in the region. On 5 October Chronicles of Turkmenistan contacted the ABU public affairs office to clarify what contribution President Berdymukhammedov made to the development of mass media in the region but no response has been received so far.
