In Ashgabat, with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the VII Congress of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan was held. During the forum, an analysis was given of the work done over the past period, the priority tasks facing the organization were identified, and a number of organizational issues were considered.
The congress participants elected a new composition of the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization. By the decision of the congress, Yazmuhammet Ovezberdiev was dismissed from the post of chairman of the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan. Yazpolat Keriev was elected as the new chairman of the Central Council of the organization.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed the congress. He noted that Turkmenistan at the present stage sets itself great tasks to increase the country's socio-economic growth and the standard of living of the people, relying on the younger generation to achieve these goals. According to the Turkmen leader, today the main part of the population of the country is the young generation formed during the years of independence, which is the future creator of the Turkmen state.
As the head of state noted, with the participation of representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, political parties, public organizations, as well as youth, the upper house of parliament developed a draft of a new version of the law “On State Youth Policy”. Its key goal is to ensure the active participation of young people in the economic, political and cultural life of the country, the creation of favorable legal conditions for educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, humanism and hard work. According to the President, the adoption of this law will significantly strengthen the legal base of the youth policy pursued in the country.
In his speech, the Turkmen leader outlined the range of tasks facing the youth organization today. Among them are the upbringing of young people in the spirit of patriotism, civic responsibility, hard work, getting a quality education, engaging in creativity and sports, full disclosure of abilities, encouraging social and personal initiatives of young citizens of the country, etc.
After the speech, Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the law of Turkmenistan “On State Youth Policy” to the applause of the forum participants.
