The winners of the races in honor of the Independence Day were awarded prizes in manats

On September 28, in honor of the 30th anniversary of Independence, a horse race was held at the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, attended by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov , the TDH state news agency reported .

Before the races, the head of state examined the exhibition, which included expositions from Ashgabat and five velayats. At this time, the song “Bedew ata san getirdin, Arkadag!” Sounded, the newspaper notes.

The races consisted of seven races. Winners 1-6 were awarded 100,000 manats ($ 28,571 at the official rate or $ 3.846 at the black market rate). The winner of the seventh race received 300,000 manats ($ 85,714 at the official rate or $ 11,538 at the black market rate), which was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister, head of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association and the International Association of Turkmen Alabai Serdar Berdimuhamedov .

Then an air show took place, after which the president talked with jockeys and watched the "kushtdepdi" dance.

Note that earlier at the races, prizes were awarded in US dollars. For example, at the races organized in honor of Independence Day in 2020, there were six prizes of $ 15 thousand each from various spheres of the national economic complex and a presidential prize of $ 30 thousand.
