Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have carried out a test transportation of goods in the neutral zones of two border checkpoints , Sputnik-Uzbekistan reported on November 25, citing the Uzbek Ministry of Transport.
These are the Khodjeyli-Kunya-Urgench and Shavat-Dashoguz checkpoints, the opening of which will relieve the existing Alat checkpoint.
On November 18, the parties held a meeting of the working groups in the format of a video conference. As a result, it is planned to restore the checkpoint operation from November 26.
The work process will be organized through the contactless transportation of trailers and semi-trailers, which will comply with sanitary and epidemiological standards.
Both checkpoints were closed in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
