Three more Turkmen enterprises were allowed to import tomatoes to Russia

On January 19, Rosselkhoznadzor allowed three more Turkmen enterprises to import tomatoes to Russia “under the guarantees of the State Plant Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan,” according to the website of the agency.

It was noted that “the decision was made following the results of the phytosanitary monitoring of enterprises growing tomatoes in the territory of Turkmenistan, represented by the Turkmen side.”

On December 10, Rosselkhoznadzor allowed the import of tomatoes and peppers to Russia from 88 Turkmen enterprises.

The ban on the import of Turkmen tomatoes and peppers from Ashgabat, Mary, Akhal and Dashoguz velayats was introduced in April 2021, after  Tomato brown rugosefruit virus (ToBRFV) was found in products from these regions  .

Over the past few years  ,   cases of detection of various  parasites  in tomatoes from Turkmenistan have been repeatedly reported .
