A conference hall of the Executive Committee of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat hosted a diplomatic briefing with the participation of representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, international organizations and heads of several national departments.
A meeting was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Executive Committee of the Asian Games-2017. The main topics on the meeting agenda were the preparation of the upcoming Games, including arrival, accommodation and accreditation of participants and guests, as well as tickets sales. Opening the briefing, Chairman of the Executive Committee D.Gulgeldiev emphasized that, despite the complexity of holding a sporting event of this kind that will be held in our country for the first time, Turkmenistan is ready to start these competitions today.
In order to successfully implement the project Ashgabat-2017, the leading world experts were invited, who have a rich experience in organizing major tournaments, including the Olympics. A well-organized and experienced team of assistants has been formed, numbering 11.000 volunteers. Three international tournaments were held in the Olympic Village in April of this year such as the Asian Championships in Kickboxing and Weightlifting, as well as regional swimming competitions, which demonstrated the high organizational skills of domestic specialists and the degree of readiness of sports facilities.
With regard to the issues of reception and accommodation of athletes, an emphasis was made, in this respect, on a certain zone that will be assigned in the airport where the delegations will be met by volunteers. According to foreign experts, the Olympic Village, where athletes and coaches will be accommodated, is one of the best in the world by quality and comfort.
A cultural programme has been developed that includes acquaintance with the sights of Ashgabat, the original culture of the Turkmen people.
In the near future, the tickets sales for the Asian Games-2017 will begin, which is to start in 88 days.
