To save water, S. Berdimuhamedov instructed to transfer sown areas to cultivated areas

On June 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Annageldi Yazmyradov , who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex , the state information agency TDH reports .

In response, the head of state instructed to study the issue of transferring sown areas from remote areas to the cultivated zones of the regions in order to save water .

Then Annageldi Yazmyradov reported that, on behalf of the head of state, work is being carried out to improve the reclamation state of lands and the rational use of water resources.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to visit the city of Kerki (Lebap velayat) in the near future and create a permanent water resources management center there.

“Offsite meetings of the center will be held taking into account the volume of water reserves,” the president said and added that it is important to ensure full-fledged water supply to farmland in the velayats.

The head of state also instructed to improve the water supply of sown areas, keep channels, channels and reservoirs in proper condition, and, together with specialized services, prepare proposals for improving the activities of the agro-industrial complex.

Recall that this summer the authorities of the country attended to the solution of the problem of supplying water to the sown areas and the population of the country. At a cabinet meeting on June 8, Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to examine and clean up the riverbeds and canals, as well as to consider the construction of desalination plants and the supply of water to Ashgabat from the Caspian Sea. On June 11, the Government Commission for Water Supply of Turkmenistan was established, which must report on its work at each meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
