Dear citizens!
Independent Turkmenistan, which always adheres to the legal status of neutrality, takes an active role in the international space. Today, our country effectively cooperates with many countries of the world in a bilateral manner, as well as within the framework of prestigious organizations, to ensure peace and sustainable development throughout the world. Appreciating the coordinating role of the United Nations as the main body that regulates international relations, Turkmenistan consistently advocates for the development of strategic cooperation with this organization and has identified it as one of the priorities of its foreign policy.
I would like to note with satisfaction that our country has been cooperating effectively with the United Nations Organization and its specialized bodies for many years. Cooperation with the United Nations Organization is carried out in the implementation of important initiatives of regional and global significance of Turkmenistan, in the joint implementation of various large projects and programs.

We have received the joyful news from the headquarters of the United Nations that another important initiative of Turkmenistan has been accepted. On February 24, 2023, at the 60th plenary session of the 77th session of the General Assembly of this organization in New York City, the Resolution entitled "Position of the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia" at the initiative of Turkmenistan was unanimously adopted. This is another clear indication of the high international reputation of Turkmenistan and the effectiveness of our foreign policy. It is an affirmation of the value and importance of preventive diplomacy. It is also a recognition of the importance of the special political institutions of the United Nations in terms of peace support and world building.
As it is known, the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia was established in Ashgabat in 2007, in accordance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, with the support of neighboring countries and members of the Security Council. The Government of Turkmenistan provides comprehensive and continuous support to the work of the Regional Center. In particular, it supports its efforts and initiatives in promoting political-diplomatic relations, preventing conflicts in the region, and strengthening trust.
Over the years, the regional center has established itself as an effective link between the United Nations and Central Asian countries in supporting effective peace-building relations and encouraging regional and international cooperation. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to all the countries that co-authored this Declaration and supported its project.
Turkmenistan will continue to work closely with the United Nations in the future for the sake of peace and prosperity around the world.
