The presidential office says it will actively cooperate with prosecutors in their probe into the Choi Soon-sil scandal.
Asked by reporters if the presidential office will hand over to investigators records of Cheong Wa Dae visitors, Presidential Spokesman Jung Youn-kuk said that it will cooperate as much as possible even though it's a security matter.
The comment follows media reports that Choi frequently visited the presidential office as she pleased without going through security checks.
Another official said that it is only proper to cooperate with the prosecution's investigation and that the office has no intention of hiding anything. The official added he believes that people found to have committed wrongdoing must be thoroughly investigated and punished.
