At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on September 20, Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylyjov reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that tourism enterprises in the provinces and the capital were privatized and placed under the control of the tourism company SPPT.
According to the state news agency TDH , digitalization is planned to improve the tourism sector, which will make the tourism business more flexible, adapted to the realities of the modern day and competitive in the digital world.
It is noted that "the modern information environment will make travel in Turkmenistan more accessible, increase the quality of travel services and the attractiveness of many domestic destinations." Digitalization of the industry will also simplify business processes and will contribute to the popularization of tourism products in the foreign market.
Recall that in November 2018 it was reported that 7 state and 16 private tourism enterprises are overseen by the State Committee for Tourism. At the same time, work was carried out to introduce digital tourism into the Country Development Program for 2019-2025.
