In January-September of 2024, 28, 859,8 min tons of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, which is 3,1 % less year-on-year, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistical Committee. According to the information, 75.1% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and during the reporting period, 21 681,7 thousand tons of oil were transferred through this pipeline, which is 4,34 % less in annual comparison. During the reporting period, 81.5% or 17 676,3 thousand tons of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline was made up of oil produced in Azerbaijan and 18,5% or 4 005,4 tons (4,85% increase) of the oil transported through the BTC pipeline was made up of oil imported from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. Recall that last year, 39,753.2 thousand tons of oil were transported through main oil pipelines, which is 5.2% more than the previous year. 75.9% of the transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil export pipeline (BTC), and 30,191.6 thousand tons of oil were transferred through this pipeline last year, which is 1.49 % more than the previous year.
