Trucks passing through Turkmenistan will be accompanied by policemen

From June 1, the transit of goods through the territory of Turkmenistan by foreign carriers is allowed. However, for this they must fulfill a number of requirements, according to the Logirus website.

Transit through the territory of the country will be carried out in strictly specified directions. Among them are the checkpoints "Serakhs (Iran) - Serakhs (Turkmenistan)" - "Farap (Turkmenistan) - Alat (Uzbekistan)" - "Serakhs (Turkmenistan) - Serakhs (Iran)".

Trucks must move through Turkmenistan in a convoy, which will be formed from 8:00 am at a distance of 1 km from the borders of Uzbekistan and Iran .

The convoy will be accompanied by traffic police. Drivers are prohibited from stopping and getting out of the cabs of vehicles while driving . For rest of truckers, refueling and maintenance of vehicles, special parking lots are provided.

In the event of a malfunction or other problems during the movement, the car is taken out of the column. He will be assisted by law enforcement agencies together with the Road Transport Agency of Turkmenistan.

To cross the border with Turkmenistan, drivers must present the results of a PCR test for COVID-19 (at least 72 hours in advance) or a certificate of vaccination against coronavirus (at least 42 days from the date of the last vaccination), as well as pass an express test at the checkpoint .

In addition, all cargo vehicles entering Turkmenistan are subject to sanitary cleaning.

Recall that the transit ban in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic was introduced in March 2020.

Previously, only local drivers could transport goods through Turkmenistan. That is, foreign truckers at the border had to transfer the cargo to the Turkmen side.
