Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report that on 18 August, 2020 healthcare practitioners and experts specializing in the installation and maintenance of medical equipment arrived in Turkmenistan on a charter flight operated by Turkish Airlines.
The flight was organized by the Turkish company Çalık Holding and the Embassy of Turkey.
Turkish doctors who treat their fellow countrymen as well as foreign nationals and citizens of Turkmenistan work in Turkmenistan. They are replaced upon expiration of their employment contracts. The contract of the current team of healthcare practitioners expired on 16 March, 2020. However, because of suspended air travel the doctors have been staying in Turkmenistan.
As regards technical specialists, they need to carry out maintenance works on medical equipment in some Turkmen medical institutions and to install state-of-the-art equipment, which had been delivered by CARGO aircraft.
Turkmen nationals who got stranded in Turkey tried to find out whether they could return to their home country on this flight but it turned out that the Turkmen government had not made relevant arrangements with Çalık and Turkish Airlines.
