We have proposed to hold a meeting in quadrilateral format with the participation of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists, APA reports.

He said that while discussing the regional situation, it is important for those in the region to discuss it, not the heads of state and government far from the region.

"We have proposed to hold a meeting in a quadrilateral format with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, myself and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, so that we can take the step. We have not yet received an opinion on this proposal. We will also discuss this issue with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. We will monitor the situation soon," Erdogan said.
