Another five medals - one gold and four bronze - appeared in the treasury of the team of Turkmenistan at the ongoing VII Summer International Sports Games “Children of Asia” in Vladivostok among athletes aged 13-16.
Freestyle wrestler Umyt Kakalyyev won the highest award. A student of the 10th grade of the Ashgabat sports school “Olimp” achieved this success in the weight category up to 57 kg among 7 participants, defeating Kalimulla Amirov from the Moscow team in the final. But in the categories up to 62 kg for boys and up to 50 kg for girls, in which 8 and 7 athletes fought for medals, respectively, one participant rose to the third step of the podium. In weight up to 62 kg, in which Donier Ibragimov from Uzbekistan became the champion of the Games, and Islam Magomedov from Moscow became the silver medalist, the bronze medal was awarded to the 8th grade student of the 38th comprehensive school of the Charjev etrap, Lebap velayat Mekan Hudayberenov. And in weight up to 52 kg, in which the first two places were taken respectively by Margarita Yarygina from the Siberian Federal District of Russia and Husniobod Sultannazirova from Uzbekistan, the bronze was received by a student of the 10th grade of the 30th specialized secondary school for in-depth study of foreign languages of Turkmenabat Selbi Zahirova.
The freestyle wrestling coach from Turkmenistan, in an interview with the official website of the “Children of Asia” Games, said that his wards competed on the international stage for the first time and these competitions are very important for the country. Turkmenistan was represented by five participants. Selbi Zahirova won the bronze despite having only been wrestling for 2 years.
Athlete Sabina Kasymjanova won the second medal, this time bronze, for the team of Turkmenistan at the “Children of Asia” Games. In the 1500 meters run, a student of the 9th grade of the 25th secondary school of the Danev etrap of the Lebap velayat finished third (4 minutes 57.41 seconds) after the representatives of Uzbekistan Dilnoza Hoshimova (4 minutes 48.91 seconds) and Maftuna Ahmedova (4 minutes 36.80 seconds).

273 sets of medals of the Games in 19 sports are contested by athletes from 12 countries and 8 regions of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the national team of the Primorskaya Territory of the Russian Federation is represented by two teams.
The team of Turkmenistan at the Games is represented by 62 athletes who participate in nine sports - 3x3 basketball, boxing, kurash wrestling, athletics, table tennis, swimming, sambo, wrestling (Greco-Roman and freestyle) and archery.
