Turkmen-Austrian online talks were held

On February 16, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a meeting with the Federal Minister of European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Alexander Schallenberg via video communication. This is reported by the foreign policy office of the country.

During the conversation, important ideas were discussed about the current state and future of Turkmen-Austrian cooperation. They emphasized the importance of visits at the highest and highest levels in expanding the areas of bilateral cooperation. They also emphasized the need to continue and intensify the policy dialogue between the foreign bodies of the two countries.

R. Meredov stressed that the cooperation between the two countries is being successfully developed within the framework of prestigious international organizations and structures - the UN, OSCE and other organizations, including the European Union, which has become more active in recent years.

Speaking about the trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Austria, the Turkmen side proposed specific steps to develop cooperation in this field. In this regard, it was noted that there are great opportunities for the development of effective relations in the trade and economic system. The important importance of the work of the Turkmen-Austrian joint team and relations between business groups was noted. Industry, renewable energy, transport, technologies and other sectors of the economy were put forward as priority areas of cooperation.

Noting the development of cultural-humanitarian cooperation, the parties appreciated the effective work of the Turkmen-Austrian community. Performances of the joint "Galkynysh" symphony orchestra held within the territory of the community, the continuous holding of the magnificent Vienna Ball in the Turkmen capital, the Days of Culture of the two countries organized in Ashgabat and Vienna and other creative events are examples of the advanced cooperation of the parties in the cultural and humanitarian system.
