At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on January 11, it was announced that work was underway to join Rysgal Bank as a member of the international payment system MasterCard.
According to the state information agency TDH , Deputy Prime Minister Gochmyrat Myradov presented national samples of plastic cards for users of this system for consideration by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov . The head of state "generally endorsed" the submitted samples.
It is also reported that in the payment system Altyn asyr, the number of users of Internet-bank and Mobil-bank services is growing. In the near future, Rysgal Bank plans to launch a payment system for purchases using QR codes.
It should be noted that the introduction of electronic payments and non-cash payment for goods and services in Turkmenistan is complicated by the constant system failures, weak Internet and incompetence of the staff.
