Festive events dedicated to the Day of the Turkmen carpet were held in the country. The main celebrations of the holiday were held in Ashgabat in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, where the XXII meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs “Heavenly Beauty – Turkmen Carpet”, an exhibition of the country's trade complex and an award ceremony for carpet weavers were held.
The exhibition presented carpets and rugs, as well as products of the textile industry of Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Textile Industry, the State Association "Turkmencover", the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan presented their opportunities to visitors of the exhibition and potential foreign partners.
In the afternoon of the festive day, the XXII meeting of the World Association of Connoisseurs of the Turkmen Carpet "The beauty of heaven - the Turkmen carpet" was held in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Speakers at the forum touched upon topical issues of studying the history of the development of hand-made carpet weaving in different countries, mutual influence and enrichment of the traditions of decorative and applied crafts of the peoples of the world. It was noted that handmade Turkmen carpets have always been in great demand as works of great artistic value and exotic luxury. Their ancient samples are exhibits of museums, exhibition halls and art galleries in many countries.
The videoconference was also attended by foreign experts - heads and leading experts of a number of world museums, scientists, art historians and businessmen - connoisseurs of the art of carpet weaving.
On the same day, a solemn ceremony of honoring the best carpet weavers of the country was held at the National Museum of the Turkmen Carpet. By the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, for great merits in the development of the national art of carpet weaving, as well as in honor of the Turkmen Carpet Festival, a group of industry workers was awarded the honorary title "Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan".
The Day of the Turkmen Carpet ended with a festive concert of masters of arts in the Ashgabat song and music center in the capital. Celebrations in honor of the Turkmen Carpet Festival were held in all regions of Turkmenistan.
