The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, the deputy khyakim (head of administration) of the Ahal velayat (region) Serdar Berdymuhamedov during the visit to Japan held talks with the first deputy head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry Abe Toshiko.
The sides discussed issues of cooperation between the two states in the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN, and noted the importance of mutual support of international initiatives. Abe Toshiko noted that cooperation between Japan and Turkmenistan has always been mutually beneficial, and the sustainable development and open door policy of Ashgabat create new opportunities for expanding bilateral partnership.
Then the Turkmen delegation visited the Nissan Motor Toshigi plant in Tochigi Prefecture, where they met with the management of this industrial complex. Here, the delegation was given the opportunity to get acquainted with various segments of the production of high-class cars, including sports cars.
The Turkmen delegation also visited the Tokyo Super Eco Town waste recycling plant, where they got acquainted with the peculiarities of industrial and household waste processing and methods of their disposal.
In the evening, a dinner was hosted in honor of the delegation of Turkmenistan on behalf of the Japanese parliament, organized by the chairman of the Japanese-Turkmen inter-parliamentary friendly league of the House of Representatives Endo Toshiaki.
