The meetings were held on January 23 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, the country's Foreign Ministry reports .

The Turkmen side was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berdyniyaz Myatiev, and the delegation from Euronews was represented by Vice President of the TV channel for sales and partnerships Sylvain Jean Yves Roger .

“As part of the cooperation that has developed over the past decade, a number of projects have been implemented to cover significant events in Turkmenistan,” the report says.

The State Committee discussed the coverage of international and regional events taking place in Turkmenistan . Which ones, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not specify.

Recall that at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 2, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov reported on how work is being done to develop the international information activities of Turkmenistan. In particular, the diplomat suggested opening an International Information Center within the structure of the State Committee on Television. Programs, short documentaries and videos dedicated to Turkmenistan will be prepared there for broadcast on the air of foreign media. Obviously, all these materials will be propagandistic in nature.

On December 9, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a resolution on the opening of the center.

Previously, Turkmenistan has already cooperated with the European TV channel. In 2017, the TV channel showed commercials about the Asian Games held in Ashgabat (V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games). In January 2020, representatives of Euronews and Turkmen diplomats discussed cooperation in the creation of information materials and the training of professional personnel.
