Turkmenistan's economy in the first two months of 2019 shows steady growth. This was noted at a government meeting via video link on the results of the country's socio-economic development in January-February.
Thus, the country's GDP growth over this period was 6.2 percent. Growth in agriculture was 3.1 percent, trade � 10.7 percent, the transport and communications industry � 10 percent, and services � 8.2 percent. The volume of retail turnover for the two months in comparison with the same period of 2018 increased by 19 percent, while exports increased by 20 percent.
Currently, the country is building various objects with a total value of over $ 35 billion, most of which have a social purpose.
At the government meeting, it was also noted that the size of the average monthly wage for large and medium-sized enterprises increased from the beginning of the year by 9.3 percent.
