Turkmen Foreign Ministry discusses TAPI with Pakistani military officials

On October 8, a meeting with the delegation of Pakistan led by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Pakistan Army, General Zubair Mahmoud Hayat , was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan .

According to the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India ( TAPI ) gas pipeline , power lines and fiber-optic links along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) route.

For what reason, construction issues were discussed with Pakistani military officials not specified.

In addition, the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of specialized education and organizing visits of specialists to exchange experiences were considered.

Recall that earlier Turkmenistan was interested in military cooperation with Pakistan. In the fall of 2016, the Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan, Yaylym Berdyev, visited Pakistan, where he met with the commander of the ground forces, Rachel Sharif, and the Minister of Defense, Rana Tanvir Hassin . Then Berdyev expressed interest in the military industry of Pakistan and asked for help in establishing the military industry in Turkmenistan.
