Turkmen – German political consultations takes place

Wide range of subjects of Turkmen – German cooperation was discussed under political consultations, which were held in video conference mode between the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Germany. The German delegation has been chaired by the Authorized Representative of German Foreign Ministry for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Michael Ziebert.

The diplomats have noted exclusively productive character of interstate relation, which are successfully developed in bilateral and multilateral format under big international organizations and structures, in particular under the UN and EU.

During online meeting, the sides have discussed implementation of previous agreements and outlined number of practical measures aimed at intensification of relations between Turkmenistan and Germany in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. Mutual interest in activation of business contacts has been highlighted.

Turkmenistan sees Germany as one of the most reliable partners, which is visually indicated by important joint projects, which were accomplished with participation of big German companies in various sectors of the economy including fuel and energy sphere, agricultural complex, transport and communication.

Positive practice of cooperation in health protection sphere has also been mentioned. The necessity of improvement of consultations between specialists of two countries in medical sphere has been highlighted.

Opportunities of expansion of legal and agreement base of cooperation and new proposals of German side taking into account Turkmenistan’s course toward diversification and digitization of national economy, wide introduction of advanced technologies to production have been discussed during the meeting. The participants of the consultations have noted efficiency of the partnership in ecological sphere, in particular under Green Central Asia project.

Speaking of cooperation in cultural and humanitarian sphere, the side have reviewed the opportunities of joint projects in archeological and education spheres, where German Society for International Cooperation has a coordinating role.
