Three bronze medals were won by Turkmen athletes in judo competitions at the V Islamic Solidarity Games in the Turkish city of Konya.
In this type of program, 14 sets of medals in seven women's and men's weight categories were contested by 198 judoists from 36 countries.
In the women's tournament in the team of Turkmenistan, 20-year-old Zulhumar Dashkinova, who competed in the weight category up to 63 kg, climbed to the third step of the podium. Amina Belkadi (Algeria) became the champion of the Games in this weight category. Silver was won by Seima Ozerler (Turkey). The second bronze was awarded to Sevinch Isokova (Uzbekistan).
Two months ago, at the international Grand Slam tournament in Ulaanbaatar, Zulhumar Dashkinova took fifth place. And now she won bronze at the complex competitions.
In the men's tournament in the team of Turkmenistan, Hakberdi Jumayev and Hekim Agamammedov received bronze medals.
23-year-old student of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction Hakberdi Jumayev achieved this success in the category up to 60 kg, in which Balabay Agkhayev (Azerbaijan) excelled. Silver went to Kemran Nurillayev (Uzbekistan). And the second bronze medalist was Kanat Selikhan (Kazakhstan).
In this weight, another Turkmen judoist, Aybek Omirov, shared the fifth place with Fraj Duibi (Tunisia).
Previously, H. Jumayev took fifth place at the 2019 World Junior Championships and the 2020 Grand Prix tournament in Tel Aviv and was seventh at the 2022 Grand Prix competition in Zagreb.
23-year-old Hekim Agamammedov won a bronze medal in the category up to 66 kg, in which Sardor Nurillayev (Uzbekistan) won the gold, Abderrahman Bushita (Morocco) won the silver, and Ramazan Kojakov (Bahrain) won the second bronze.
Previously, H. Agamammedov's best result was 5th place at the 2019 Asian-Oceania Championship among juniors.
In this weight, another Turkmen athlete, Serdar Rahimov, shared fifth place with Aybolat Ystybay (Kazakhstan).
The top five judoist at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games also included Sayara Roziyeva (up to 52 kg) and Gozel Novruzova (up to 57 kg).
