The delegation of Turkmenistan held a number of meetings in Iran on January 8 and 9. They include meetings with Iranian Oil Minister Javad Ovji, Roads and Urban Development Minister Rostam Ghasemi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan and Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mohber.
The Turkmen Foreign Ministry said that they discussed issues of cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, fuel and energy, industry, transport and communications, in particular, in the field of expanding international and regional road and rail transport.
According to the Iranian IRNA agency, during a meeting at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the parties studied the documents to be signed during the imminent visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Iran.
The Turkmen media do not mention the preparations for Berdymukhamedov's visit to Iran.
The government delegation, which arrived in the neighboring country on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.
