Turkmen sambo wrestlers won gold and two bronze medals at the 47th World Championship held in Bishkek. The tournament brought together about 400 athletes from more than 50 countries who fought for the title of the strongest in 21 weight categories among men and women, in sports and combat sambo.
On the first day of the competition, a soldier of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country Muhammet Kossekov won the highest standard award in the team of Turkmenistan. The 24-year-old master of sports from Ashgabat achieved this success in the weight category up to 64 kilograms, in which 18 participants competed for medals.
On the second day of the World Championship, the piggy bank of the national team of Turkmenistan was replenished with two more bronze medals. They were won by the representative of the National Federation of Martial Arts of Turkmenistan Kakageldy Egenbaev (up to 71 kg.) and the coach of the sports school of the State Committee for Physical Education and Sports Batyr Hojamukhamedov (over 98 kg.).
