Turkmen student expelled from Belarus for exploding petard

Student from Turkmenistan who studied at the Belarusian State University of Economics in Minsk blew up a firecracker in a dormitory on New Year's Eve.

As reported on the website of the Belarusian Ministry of Interior, for this offense he was brought to administrative responsibility under Art. 17.1 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus Petty hooliganism, he was sentenced to a fine.

In addition, on January 22, 2019, after considering the circumstances of the incident, the commission, which included representatives of the university, dormitories, the leadership of the Leninsky district militia department of Minsk and the Office of Citizenship and Migration, the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee decided to expel a 19-year-old citizen of Turkmenistan from Belarus.

The student must leave within 30 days, the ban on entry into the country will be valid for three years.

As explained on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a foreigner can be expelled from the republic in the interests of national security, public order, protection of morality, public health, rights and freedoms of citizens of the Republic of Belarus and other persons.

The extreme measure in the form of expulsion of a foreign citizen from the country provides for the existence of other factors, analyzes the identity of the foreigner who committed the offense, and the circumstances that prompted him to do so.
