Turkmen-Uzbek political consultations held at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. Delegations at the talks were led by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov.
During the negotiations, aspects of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed. The parties emphasized the important role of enhancing the Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue through mutual visits at the highest and highest levels. The parties considered the possibility of expanding cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations, in particular, the UN and the OSCE.
During the negotiations, the parties noted the need to expand cooperation in the field of water and land management. The possibilities of exchanging visits at various levels to familiarize themselves with the potential of the two countries in the field of engineering, education and tourism were also considered. Following the results of political consultations, a Cooperation Program was signed between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan for 2020-2021.
