Turkmenbashi Sea Port: Integration Impulse

The Turkmenbashi International Sea Port is becoming the most important link in modern transport infrastructure of Turkmenistan. These days in the ferry, passenger and container terminals goes round-the-clock work on sending passengers and cargo.

On the eve of the New Year, the flow of passengers and vehicles transported to the Caspian ports by Ro-Pax Berkarar and Bagtyyar ferries increased significantly through the sea gates of the country. Volumes of cargo transit through the sea harbor of the city of Turkmenbashi are growing. At the port berths, ships delivering construction materials from Iran are unloaded, and a number of Kazakh wheat is being loaded into the Iranian cargo ship.

The port provides transshipment of goods arriving for Afghanistan and in the opposite direction - to Azerbaijan and Turkey. The volumes of goods imported from the near and far abroad are expanding, containers from Spain intended for consignees in Uzbekistan are unloaded. Shipment of construction materials, metal and wood from Turkey and the Russian Federation to the most important objects in our country and in neighboring countries is provided.

Thousands of meters of large-diameter pipes were delivered through the seaport to the place where the TAPI gas pipeline was laid. Exports of Turkmen goods are increasing. Carbamide produced in Garabogaz, polyethylene and polypropylene from a polymer plant in Kiyanly, petroleum coke from TKNPZ, natural raw materials from sulfur deposits, etc.

Accelerated cargo handling contributes to the high-tech "stuffing" of the seaport, which is equipped with the most modern software and hardware systems necessary to ensure the safety and efficiency of navigation and cargo. The renewed transport and logistics hub in Turkmenbashi is designed to provide a qualitatively new level of economic and trade cooperation between the countries of Asia and Europe, to give a strong impetus to interregional relations, to optimize traffic flows in the Eurasian space.
