Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan adopt Declaration on strategic cooperation and a number of agreements

The ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place upon the completion of the talks between the government delegations of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Ilham Aliyev signed the Declaration on the strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The agreements on cooperation in the civil defense, prevention and liquidation of emergency situations; in the areas of: maritime merchant shipping, protection of industrial property, copyright and related rights, environmental protection, veterinary medicine and plant quarantine were also signed at the intergovernmental level. The governments concluded the Memorandum on Mutual Understanding on developing cooperation in the sphere of power industry and the agreement on cooperation in the field of culture.

The documents on cooperation in the tourism sector and the tax sphere were signed between the ministries of internal affairs of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

The protocol to amend the Agreement on the freight transport logistic, operation and registration of freight wagons and containers at the international rail and ferry traffic through the ports of Turkmenbashi and Baku was also signed.
