Turkmenistan and the Gulf countries are increasing cooperation

Members of the Government of Turkmenistan met with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf, Naif Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, in the Avaza national tourist zone.

From the Turkmen side, the leaders in charge of foreign policy, the oil and gas sector, trade and transport took part in the talks. During the meeting, the prospects for further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Persian Gulf were discussed. It was emphasized that building partnership between Turkmenistan and the states of this region is one of the priorities of Ashgabat's foreign policy. Also, the participants of the meeting noted the relevance of enhancing cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, in the energy industry, as well as in increasing the volume of mutual trade turnover.

During the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf on the mechanism of consultations.
