Issues of expanding bilateral cooperation in the transport sector were discussed on the sidelines of the transport forum during the talks between Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil Al-Mazrui.
The parties discussed the possibility of opening transport and logistics routes, establishing cooperation between the Turkmen port of Turkmenbashi in the Caspian Sea with the ports of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as the integration of the Turkmen port into the global system of maritime transportation.
The interlocutors highly appreciated the level of political relations, noting that an official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the UAE will soon be organized at the invitation of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
At the talks, the significant potential of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two states, as well as the readiness of Turkmenistan to cooperate with the leading oil and gas companies of the United Arab Emirates was noted.
