Turkmenistan and UNICEF signed documents on cooperation in emergency situations

The National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in emergency situations and an emergency action plan.

 

These documents provide for the cooperation of the parties in emergency situations to meet the needs of the population, taking into account the interests of children.

 

According to the memorandum, the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan and UNICEF will be able to create and manage reserve stocks of basic materials and essentials for use in emergency situations for humanitarian purposes.

 

The contingency program includes joint activities to provide humanitarian assistance to the population during a crisis situation and must be activated within 24 hours of the occurrence of such a situation.
