Turkmenistan celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8

Turkmenistan hosts solemn events dedicated to the International Women's Day on March 8. In Ashgabat, as part of the celebration, mothers who gave birth to eight or more children were honored, who, in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, were awarded the honorary title of “Yene Myakhri” (“Maternal Tenderness”) and handed over the keys to new comfortable apartments.

During these celebrations, it was noted that the policy pursued by Turkmenistan is aimed at ensuring that in the new socio-economic conditions, women are not limited to the role of homemakers, but are actively involved in the socio-political and economic life of the country. It was also emphasized that the women of Turkmenistan today are professional, responsible and initiative leaders, scientists, teachers, doctors, deputies and diplomats. And at the same time they remain caring mothers and skillful housewives.

In accordance with the decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, about three hundred women were awarded the honorary title of "Yene myahri". They were also given the keys to new spacious apartments in luxury houses.

Solemn ceremonies honoring mothers were held in all regional centers of the country. And in the ministries, departments, their structural subdivisions, institutions and organizations, at enterprises of all forms of ownership, solemn ceremonies of presenting cash gifts to women on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan were held.

Also, in honor of International Women's Day, a concert of masters of arts dedicated to the women of Turkmenistan was held at the Ashgabat Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center.
