Turkmenistan hands out humanitarian aid to Afghanistan on the occasion of Ramadan

On on the occasion of the month of Ramadan President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhemmadov signed a decree to send groceries to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Protection and Turkmenistan’s Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs have been instructed to carry out the initiative. The state information agency TDH reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is charged with the task of organizing the shipment.

On a regular basis Turkmenistan provides humanitarian aid to the neighbouring Afghanistan. For instance, in 2019 an electric transformer, medications and confectionery goods were sent to the neighbouring country as humanitarian aid.
