The construction of the gas pipeline "Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India" (TAPI) is essential for a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan. Such an opinion during the first ministerial meeting of the dialogue India-Central Asia with the participation of Afghanistan in Samarkand was expressed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov , TASS reported January 13.
The TAPI project will create real prerequisites for maintaining stability in Afghanistan, will create 12,000 jobs only in Afghanistan, and will provide about $ 1 billion in annual revenue to the state treasury, said Meredov.
The participants of the Samarkand meeting, which began on January 13, discuss promising areas of cooperation in the development of transport and logistics, attracting investments, innovations and technologies to industry, energy, medicine, pharmaceuticals, as well as interaction in the fields of culture, science, education and tourism.
The foreign ministries of India - Sushma Svaraj , Kyrgyzstan - Chingiz Aidarbekov , Tajikistan - Sirojiddin Muhriddin , Turkmenistan - Rashid Meredov, Uzbekistan - Abdulaziz Kamilov , Kazakhstan - Beibut Atamkulov and Afghanistan - Salahuddin Rabbani take part in the forum in Samarkand .
